PTI supporter sentenced to 3 years in prison for tweeting against army, senior military leadership

  A district and sessions court in Faisalabad has sentenced a PTI supporter to three years in prison for “defaming” the Pakistan Army by running a “highly obnoxious and intimidating campaign” against the senior military leadership on Twitter. Sikandar Zaman, 30, was apprehended last year by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after a complaint against him was lodged under sections 20 (Malicious code) and 24(c) (Legal recognition of offenses committed in relation to information system) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016. It also invoked sections 500 (Punishment for defamation) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Pakistan Penal Code. His account had 184 followers, according to the Pak Lawyers Forum. Zaman’s mobile phone and Twitter account were also seized by the police.   Another shocking incident of murder took place in India in which a boy killed his girlfriend and kept her body in a freezer. According to Indian media, the 22-year-old victim belongs to Jajhar and the criminal is a resident of Matrao village in Najafgarh. According to the police, after his arrest, Sahil confessed that he strangled Nikki with a mobile phone data cable on February 10, after which he took Nikki's body to his dhaba and hid it in a freezer. 24/7 driving licence service launched in six cities

  Punjab DIG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig on Monday said that the 24/7 driving licence service for the convenience of citizens in six major cities of the province has been launched.  By this service, the citizens can now take the test to obtain the driving licence at any time within 24 hours.  DIG Traffic said that driving test centres will remain open 24/7 in the six major cities of the province - Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Sialkot. He said that apart from these six cities, the number of days fixed for driving licence test has been increased from two to six for the convenience of citizens of other districts of Punjab so that more citizens can benefit from the facility of driving test.
